History

S.M.I.L.E.S. was formed in September of 2003 due to the high demand for pediatric speech-language pathology services needed in the Greater Cincinnati, tri-state area. In 2010, we began the process of re-branding and expanding our line of services to include Occupational Therapy. In September of 2013, we added Occupational Therapy to the list of services we provide.

Culture & Philosophy

S.M.I.L.E.S. strives to educate parents and professionals in identification of difficulties and disorders related to feeding, swallowing and oral functioning, motor-speech dysfunction, apraxia, speech and language difficulties, and sensory processing disorders. We provide comprehensive, informative evaluations and supply the necessary tools and insight for each child’s therapeutic needs and success.

Ultimately, S.M.I.L.E.S. believes that you are the expert when it comes to your child. The information provided by you is vitally important. S.M.I.L.E.S. takes a holistic approach to providing therapy services and focuses on each child’s underlying issues. By working closely with you, care providers, therapists, pediatricians, primary care physicians and specialists alike, we can effectively address specific therapeutic needs and achieve optimal results.

In order to ensure the best possible care and outcome, S.M.I.L.E.S. may refer children to a variety of professionals with whom we work closely. By working together, we can ensure lasting success.

Who We Serve & What We Do

S.M.I.L.E.S. provides PROMPT therapy, speech therapy, and feeding therapy to infants and children 0 to 21 years of age possessing severe feeding and/or swallowing difficulties-disorders, apraxia, dyspraxia, dysarthria, speech and language disorders/delays. Additionally, we provide occupational therapy services to infants and children 0 to 21 years of age in need of early intervention, devise strategies, and the development of adaptive techniques and strategies.

Therapy is available on a variety of levels. We will evaluate your child to determine the frequency needed for optimal results. Therapy may be as infrequent as 1 time a month, every other week, once to 5 times a week to intensive programs at 2-3 times a day for 4-5 days a week if needed.
